HOFER 1.000 bar dry-running piston compressor for hydrogen
For all process technologies where oil free gas compression is required, dry running piston compressors will be used. These machines operates without any oil lubrication in the gas chambers. The piston motion is performed by crank drive or hydraulic drive. The cylinders are separated by double distance pieces from the crank drive.
With classic dry-running compressors, crank shaft driven, in the past final pressures up to 180 bar could be realized. With the new design, hydraulically driven, final pressures up to 1.000 bar are reachable.
We are considered one of the world-wide leading supplier of high pressure compressors for technical gases, especially for hydrogen. New technologies will obviously increase the demand for hydrogen and ways are searched to store the gas under higher and higher pressures.
For these applications, HOFER Compressor Technologies has decades of international experience and thus, HOFER Compressor Technologies received important purchase orders for the manufacture of high pressure compressors up to 3000 bar for space centres and from 440 to 1000 bar for hydrogen filling stations in the past as well as in the present time.
